BMW Re-wrote the book about the modern sports car with the BMW i8, which is a world apart from the likes of the Porsche 911, and all the other cars in this arena. There is a 1.5ltr 3 cylinder turbo charged engine which produces 228bhp and delivers it to the rear wheels, coupled with an electric motor producing 141bhp driving the front wheels. A total of 369 bhp which isn't in Supercar terratory, but thanks to the cleverly designed Carbon Fibre construction, this is easily enough to propel the car from 0-62 in a mere 4.4 seconds, all the while being a lot kinder to the environment and your pocket when it comes to filling up and paying congestion charges. Putting that all aside, the car feels nimble and light to drive, it's very quiet on the road until you provoke the accelerator, in which case the technology overlays the engine noise giving you a sound which could very easily be mistaken for a turbo charged V6. The driving position and seat comfort is near on perfect, and you have all the technology that you could possibly need or want on board. It's a Fantastic car.
