The Porsche Boxster range has undergone some significant changes in the latest 718 series, and one of the most major changes is the movement from the Horozontally Opposed 6 Cylinder Engines that have been the trademark with both 911's and Boxsters for 50 years give or take, to 4 cylinder turbo charged units. Whilst understanding the true spirit of keeping emmissions down and making these cars more fuel efficient, true Porsche enthusiasts may well argue that these newer models have lost something in this movement. There is joy to be had from the noise of the flat 6, and for the instant response one gets from the naturally aspirated 3.4 litre engine that this car is fitted with. This is a substantial engine with 330 bhp and 273lb.ft of torque, and it sits perfectly nice and low, and just forward of the rear wheels exactly where it should be for perfect weight distribution. It's a fantastic car to drive, and in GTS guise it is the last and best of this model. This is an End of Era car that could well prove to be a very interesting propsition in years to come, and in Carmine Red with black detailling it looks amazing.
